So lately I've been thinking about karma and how circular life is. There are some people who come and go in our lives and sometimes the circumstances are good and sometimes they are completely awful. I firmly believe in following instincts...in going with my gut. I have always felt that my instincts are strong and I trust them more than anything. It's amazing when you can see when people take the wrong path. When you can look back and say, wow - it is so clear now. It's sad to see people struggle. It's sad to struggle. But I look back and see that all the hard times, the falling-outs, the fights, the tough decisions - they all make us stronger and force us to work harder for what we need and want and in the end, we are better for it.
Last night Geelite and I enjoyed some cheap red wine and discussed life and friendships and work in the cool city air. It was a much needed break from work and school. We enjoyed some Orange County laughs and pleasant company and curious crawling kitties and Trader Joe's corn chips. We enjoyed a chill Friday night, simple and unplanned. No art history reading. No laundry. No money. Just time spent.
Today I worked on my Graphic Design II gestalt compositions for this week's final presentation. It felt good to work on it in advance, to be listening to Neutral Milk Hotel (thanks be to Shannon) and to be enjoying the serene blowing of the thin green curtains and kitchen table cloth in the gorgeous Saturday breezy air. It felt good to air out the apartment. It felt good to relax and be productive.
I'll be getting back to my homework in a few minutes. Oh, and in case you were hoping for some entertainment from this blog entry, I'll leave you with this fun Photo Booth manipulation of me and my man. I promise you we are a bit more attractive in real life.
Enjoy your Saturday evening and remember - energy is circular and time alone is key.
