Okay, so due to the amazingly HIGH response to my blogging absence (okay - they're all from tracie, but still...), I'm taking five seconds to post to my blogging friends before I have to shower up and head to Photoshop.
First, I'd like to congratulate tracie on an amazing race - she finished the Marine Corps Marathon and is still standing, officially a woman to fear. Go woman!
So much has been going on. Chaos, as usual, around birthday season. It's so strange how November 1st seems to creep up quietly and the next thing you know, you're sitting around thinking crazy thoughts about the seasonal changes and how the smell of the air somehow reminds you of high school and the strange and wonderful and sad things that happened in your silly little life back then but how they still resonate today and you ponder your age increase and the fact that you're still so lost in the world but at the same time are so into everything and there is passion around every corner and in the most mundane things and then you are suddenly aware that you are no longer able to view time the same as you once were and you want to harness it and reel it in because it is flying and there are so many things you want and need to do and countries to live in and adventures to go on and cities to explore and huge ancient trees to climb and just sit in to enjoy the warm breezy air and the sound of crickets and the smell of burgers on the grill and ice cream sundaes and all of a sudden you just feel happy that you are so busy and have no time to build up the birthday because you are enjoying every day and the stresses and the relaxation with friends and the new people and attitudes and the world is suddenly much smaller and accessible and you are excited at the possibility of life and atmosphere and sky and expectation and you know how ridiculous the rules are and you break them and laugh at them and become free and another age only allows you to see exactly how great it all is. How great your life has become.
There are lots of new things happening for me and I want to write about all of it. To get it all down and have it there on paper for when I'm 100 years old and feel the need to share an enthusiastic tale of my life as an almost-26 year old with anyone who will listen. I'll show them pictures of me when my life revolved around a solid beat and a beer with friends....but for now I will put up my hair, throw on my new favorite jeans, grab my trusty lap top and head out to campus to enjoy 4.5 hours of photoshop madness.
Happy Pumpkin Day.
