[coffee and cigarettes]

The semester is officially over. Over! Finished. Complete. Let's all breathe in some oxygen for five seconds, shall we? Sigh of relief.

The semester at the Corcoran has been the hardest experience of my life. Way harder than any combination of semesters at GW. It is amazing how many projects I completed, how many people I've befriended, and how much time I have spent in front of my shiny friendly lap top. Oh, and how much coffee I have ingested. So. Much. Coffee. Did I mention I'm not really a coffee-drinker? Apparently it's time to stop deluding myself.

My Sophomore Review happened on Friday afternoon. I pulled 2 very labor-intensive all-niters to pull together the best work possible and I am pretty happy with how it all went. The several faculty members who evaluated my work were honest and hip and friendly and serious and provided lots of criticism that I was already aware of (that's good) and praised my Photoshop I work as some of my best (I'd have to agree). I shook their hands and they thanked me and I had a voice and it was wonderful. It was refreshing and positive to see my semester's worth of work all on a wall in the building for others to view in complete. I felt good.

Now I know I should really post some examples of my work on here, but it's kinda been a chill day and I'm not really sure I'm in the mood to start uploading photos. But I will. One of these days I will share my work with you.

Since my last day of school on Friday, I have basically lounged around, slept until at bare minimum, noon, and eaten as much food as humanly possible. It's scary, indeed. Have I mentioned I'm en route to obesity? Don't object, you haven't seen the secret breakfast donuts I've slipped in...although everyone on the Georgetown Shuttle certainly has.

Well I'm off to deliver a meatball sandwich from Potbelly's to my crazy friend Shaadi the Syrian upstairs, so I guess I will talk to you guys soon. If I don't get on here before Christmas, I hope you all have a wonderful holiday filled with sunshine and 60 degree weather and snow angels.

Love,

Kristen.

Thanks chica!!!! I can't believe how crazy this semester was and that I've seen you so very little:( I think of you often and really miss our lunches and talking 800 times a day using every electronic resource available! I am going home on Wednesday and then will be gone probably until after New Years. Hopefully once I get back in town I will be organized and capable of functioning as a normal human being and we can finally hang out. WE WILL HANG OUT dammit!

Have a great Christmas - love you!!!
