[bad ass entry]

At long last the moment has come to share my fantastically bad ass entry with you.

On Monday night I went to an event for the Department of Peace at the Lisner Auditorium 2 blocks from my palace. Shaadi had dreams of making out with Steven Tyler (who was said to be making an appearance alongside Jaoquin Phoenix, Amy Smart, and several other celebrities...), and I had visions of Jaoquin dancing in my head. Tim didn't want to take any of them home and instead was just happy to catch a few celeb glimpses and enjoy the show.

The evening started with me and Shaadi firing up some Aerosmith, Big Ones and rockin' out as we cleaned the apartment and washed dishes to prepare for his potential one-nighter with a rock star. Next, we met up with Tim and walked over an hour early. As we stood in line, we laughed and told fairy tales about the stars we were about to see up close. It was thrilling. So thrilling, in fact, that I had to pay $2.00 dollars for some Reese's Peanut Butter cups while standing in line. It was like we were at the Grammy's, chillin' on the red carpet, enjoying life. Life couldn't get much better.

But oh no, wait! It did get better. Life got a whole lot better. The event started and Kristen, Tim and Shaadi were nestled safely in the 8th row, center stage. Could not have been more ideal for the viewing of Steven Tyler's oversized lips as they walked across that platform. And walk they did. Towards the end of the event, Steven was introduced and strutted out wearing kickass vertical striped black and white pants, a black t-shirt with a cool jacket over and jewelry....lots and lots of jewelry and pirate-style (my style) earrings and long bad ass hair. He looked amazing. AMAZING. I know, he had some botox or a facelift....but still. The man looked natural and radiant and quite handsome in real life. And his mouth, in fact, looked smaller than on the small screen. Weird, huh?

He sat on a wooden stool at the front of the stage and had a microphone stand before him. There was another man with him who played keyboards or acoustic guitar (and that was the only other sound aside from Stevie's voice). He was going to play for us.

The first of 3 songs played was "Don't Wanna Miss A Thing"...you know the one....Armeggedon soundtrack. Then he played "Pink", which was amazing seeing as that is one of the first songs I remember listening to with Shaadi when we first met, and it spawned the endless Kristen/Shaadi debate of whether that song is a declaration of Steven's homosexual tendencies. Who will ever know? Lastly, he play "Dream On" which is only one of the greatest rock songs that ever was. I could not believe it. We heard all the Steven sounds....those raspy high whispers, the yeah yeah yeahs, and we even got a rock 'n roll leg kick which was pretty spectacular.

By the time he started playing "Pink", Shaadi and I were running for the stage which until this point had 2 other people near dancing awkwardly but with a sweet energy. We stood directly in front of Mr. Tyler and we shared a moment. A real moment. He started at me as I sang his words and then he stared at Shaadi (who was now yelling that he lived nearby and we should all hang). We were starstruck! When it ended, he went backstage. And f*ck yeah, did we follow. Shaadi's Congressman acquaintance (who was involved in the event) walked passed us and Shaadi asked if we could come back and meet Steven.

AND DUDE SAID 'YES'.

So we hustled backstage and were greeted by Steven Tyler with warm handshakes and name introductions. He was so friendly and smiling and wonderful. We asked for a picture (cause you know I had that sh*t ready) and a professional camera standing nearby prepared for the pic. Steven grabbed me around the waste/stomach with his arms and pulled me in front of him (and close, I might add...very very close) and we all smiled for the pic. I immediately shouted, "with my camera too, please! My camera!" (something like that - high dramatics) and Steven made a joke, making fun of me and we all laughed and he held onto me for one more picture. Unfortunately, the shot was taken too close for my evidence to convince you, but behold, it is true. Steven Tyler grabbed me and hugged me and I'm going to start lying and tell people we're dating. Cause the photo is gooood.

So without further ado:

Left to Right: Tim, Kristen, Steven Tyler!, Congressman Kucinich, and Shaadi.

Now is that a bad ass entry, or what?
