First, I want to say that if you haven't already read tracie's news, please visit lowtalk.typepad.com for an update on her major life changes taking place right now, as we speak! It's awesome to see someone really get their shit together!
Second, classes start for me tomorrow and I will once again be facing the daily crunch of time and energy of designing page layout and matching Pantone colors. I am ready. I am focused. I am excited. I plan to kick butt this semester.
The past few days were really fun for me. My friend Cedric hopped on a train from Mighty New York to visit me in D.C. On his first stay in this bizarre city of mine, I was able to show him the major monuments, the Mall, the Smithsonians, the Hirschhorn, Dupont Circle, Foggy Bottom (dir) and the U Street area. He got to meet Shaadi and Gina and Henry and Rebecca and Jenna and the whole gang. He experienced Wings Night, although I must say the music and vibe was not quite up to par. After indulging in wings and lots of Bud Lites, Gina, Dave, Cedric and I hopped a cab to Gina's Pad where the four of us laid about her room, listening to old records while Kristen bounced around in a fake fur vest singing "Dress you up in my love, in my love..." and "Almost paradise....we're knocking on Heaven's door..." Oh and that reminds me of the smoky circle in which we sat (Cedric, Shaadi and I) with Vodka Cranberries with a twist of lime singing outloud and gently swaying to "We built this city on rock 'n roll..." followed by a sigh-filled viewing of Fraggle Rock off YouTube. Wow, what a week!
Needless to say, there was lots of fun and lots of excitement and lots of new friends and laughing. Well, there was also a lot of partying too, so that could be partly responsible. Great visit. And great end to the best winter break ever (even surpassing the now 2nd best winter break of all, when Kristen boarded a bus to NY and partied with Christina 'til 2 glorious weeks had passed!).
Oh, did I happen to tell you guys that I got a job at Bertucci's? Had my orientation today and got to eat my first 50% off Penne Puttanesca of the year.
Life is good right now....soooooooooooo good.
