[i've got me some rock 'n roll hair]

So I'm back and DC and have been for a week now. Initially, it was a tough transition to be back here seeing how the city was desolate and many friends were still out of town. But Geelite was around and that was all I needed to get back into the groove of things. I spent lots of time this past week in the studio, helping girl clean up shop and working on a new relief panel. It felt so good to put my hands in clay again and build. Create. Sculpt. I feel refreshed. A new girl for a new semester.

I bumped into tracie on I Street today which was nice since I have not seen her in 8.8 million years. We chatted and I got to hug her several times and contemplate how I've let this much time elapse between our meetings. Shame on me!

Last night I went out for drinks with Rebecca and her friend Andrew and we had a lovely time drinking $2 Coronas at Madhatter and then more Coronas at Rumors (the notorious scene of my tequila blackout - I know, I said I'd never go there again) and I danced to some fun music and then danced some more.

Shaadi got into town last night, as well, and I stopped up to his 7th floor Palace for a smoke and several excited and very buzzed hugs. I really missed him and was thrilled to see him and the environment that was basically my second home, last semester. What's even more exciting, is the feeling of being in that space and having a completely different mindset than last month. Things this semester are going to be more in check and that is going to make for a much healthier friendship and lifestyle for us both. No more nightly Prison Break and Sopranos gatherings! Booooooooo. But yay, too.

Geelite and I were talking today over lunch at Lindy's and she categorized, very casually, the music and songs, in particular, that I love. They fall into "Running from the Law, Authority", "Anything relating to Satan", "Dance" and "Alcohol, Drugs, etc." I was shocked, of course, initially, and then realized upon further reflection, that she's absolutely right. Wow. I guess when you're favorite song is "Running with the Devil", it's not so hard to imagine! Go Diamond Dave!

Some friends from New York may be coming into town end of this weekend and I'm pretty excited. I guess partying with them for a week in NYC just wasn't enough of a fix! Speaking of NY, I should post some fun NY pictures right now!

Me and Christina with the Vodka Rifle. Can you believe this thing?!?!

Me and Jon wearing fun party favors!

Me and Christine, Jon's new (and very cool) girl!

Me, Jon and Christina, rockin' the dancefloor!

Me with Cedric, the Party Host!

Me with the Party People from NJ who were every bit as cool as they look!

Well that's it for photos for now. But yeah, that was my New Year's....the BEST New Year's I've had in a really long time.

As the Cars would say:

"Let them leave you, up in the air.
Let them brush, your rock 'n roll hair.

Let the good times rolllllll."
